On a personal note Dr.Qamar has been in private practice of pediatric medicine since October of 1997. She
is married to Dr. Asad Qamar, a practicing Cardiologist. They have
three children: daughter Sana, son Ehsun, and son Aadil.
Jane Penney is our Office Manager as well as our Nurse. Bonita Pryor is our medical Assistant. Rachel Allan is our receptionist and Emily James is our billing/insurance specialist.
Procedure Description: IN Hospital Procedure (Circumcision)
What To Expect: Circumcision is done in the hospital by Dr. Qamar the day of discharge or the day before.
Preprocedure: Shold you have any questions before you deliver about circumcision please feel free to contact our office.
Postprocedure: Specific instructions will be given on how to care for your childs circumcision for the next 7-10 days.
Procedure Description: In Hospital Procedure ( Delivery)
What To Expect: Dr. Qamar will attend your C-section as well as any high risk delivery.
Preprocedure: Dr. Qamar will be notified by your Obstetrician for date and time of expected delivery.
Postprocedure: Dr. Qamar will see the child in the hospitial until time of discharge
Procedure Description: In Office Procedure (Tempanogram)
What To Expect: When a child is presented with a earache and Dr. Qamar feels it is necessary we will check the fluid in the ear.
Preprocedure: No pre-procedure is needed
Postprocedure: No instructions are needed for the post-procedure
Procedure Description: In Office Procedure (New Born 1st Visit)
What To Expect: You will have paper work to fill out as well as providing us with insurance information. After
the paper work you and the baby will be brought back to an exam room.
The nurse will ask you a series of questions in regards to how the baby
is doing, (sleeping, eating, etc.). We like to see baby back up to
birth weight on the first visit. We will see the child at 1 week of
age, 2 weeks,4 weeks,2 months, 4 months,6 months,9 months,
12months,18monthsm,2 years and yearly after that.
Preprocedure: None needed
Postprocedure: None needed
Procedure Description: In Office Procedure (Ear Pearcing)
What To Expect: Dr.
Qamar will request that the parent mark the site to be pierced on the
ear. The child must be at least 2 months of age and have had their
first series of vaccines.
Preprocedure: clean ears with alcohol at site of piercing, mark spot where hole will be put in
Postprocedure: keep ears clean and dry. wash twice daily with alcohol
Procedure Description: In Office Procedure (Blood Work)
What To Expect: If
Dr. Qamar feels that the child needs blood work some may be able to be
done in the office by Jane, our nurse. We may send you to the
outpatient lab for tests that are more complicated.
